Located on the north west coast of Corfu, Liapades is one of the largest villages on the island. A beautiful and friendly place to stay, and full of traditional charm. A wonderful place to visit, recharge your batteries, relax and have a good time. Many visitors find a connection with Liapades and return year upon year. Enjoy a stroll through the narrow village streets up to the village square for a taste of local life, you can visit the church, take coffee or go for something to eat. Walk the trail through the mountain olive groves, visit one of the beautiful beaches and swim in the crystal clear waters or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature. Local events and celebrations are a great experience to see and participate in. Carnival - usually around February/March time, great fun to take part in. Easter is a wonderful time in Liapades, with a procession through the village, lead by the Liapades Philharmonic band. And a dedicated day where families go for a picnic. Plus various festivals throughout the summer where you can enjoy the local culture and dancing. Seasonal temperatures vary giving the chance to visit in hotter or cooler months. Spring is warm and magical as the nature starts to bloom, and fireflys glow in the dark. Early and late summer have comfortably warm heat, and July - August is for the real heat lovers. Enjoy the surrounding nature, from the foliage and flowers to the wildlife, you may be fortunate enough to spot Dolphins swimming along side the boats, eagles soaring the sky. The call of the crickets and owls at night under a sky full of stars all give a sense of the surrounding nature. Olive trees dominate the mountain tops, cypress trees stand tall amongst amongst the greenery which flows down to the beaches. A large array of fruit trees grow in and around the village, from fig, orange, lemon, pomegranate, apricot, grapevines and walnuts. One "must try" is the local wine.
